Volunteer Opportunities
 
Below you will find a descriptive list of events and fund-raisers.  Please contact Diann Stathakis at DStathakis@msasc.org subject (Volunteer).
 
PARENT PANEL - Room-mother group charged with organizing school-wide events and special classroom activities.  Meets monthly.
 
FALL FESTIVAL – Saturday, November 14  (10:00 am – 3:30 pm)
 Each class sponsors a game/activity and/or food.
 
ANNUAL FUND – October – December
 MSA raises money for the extras – playground equipment, science equipment, library  books, computer  software, Suzuki violin program, etc.
 
PANSY SALES - September
 All classes sell pansies for fund-raising.  People needs: sales, distribution.
 
POINSETTIA SALES – November/December
 All classes sell poinsettias for fund-raising.  People needs: sales, distribution.
 
INDOOR SOCCER COACHES – September – November
 Attend and coach games & practices – usually one game per week for 8 weeks.
 
BASKETBALL COACHES – December – February
 Attend and coach games & practices – usually one game per week for 8 weeks.
 
BOOK FAIR – December/March
 A five-day event that gives parents and students time to view and select the books  of their choice.  This event is held in the main office area.  People needs: set- up/take-down, workers during event.
 
SPRING BENEFIT – Saturday, March 27, 2009
 This fun evening event includes a raffle for a $10,000 prize, silent and live  auctions, music, food and dancing. Raises money for Annual Scholarship Fund.
 People needs: ticket sales, item donations, decorations, set-up, event workers,  clean up.
 
FIELD DAY – April/May
 An all school event with games, races and food, held on the school grounds. There  are 18 wild and crazy events and all students and parents are invited to  participate. People needs: game helpers (morning only), food preparation, and set- up and clean up.
 
DRAMA/THEATER: publicity, concessions, costuming, set design (tear down), ticket  sales.
 
PROGRAM & CLASSROOM SUPPORT: PRIMARY PLAYGROUND MONITOR,  
 Substitutes       
     
OFFICE HELP: Bulk mailings, general office help
 
FACILITIES: Minor repair and maintenance (i.e. electrical, plumbing, carpentry,  furniture & equipment movers, yard/grounds).
 
WORK DAYS: Inside & outside work. Shrub trimming, weeding, raking, pruning, window   & pressure washing
